Vehicle EXHAUST REMOVAL SYSTEMS for FIRE Halls, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND PUBLIC WORKS

MagneGrip

Founded in 1975 by Ed Rossman, MagneGrip is a U.S. manufacturer of ISO 9001:2015 Certified air purification and exhaust removal systems, proudly made in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Trusted by fire departments across the U.S. and Canada, MagneGrip and AirHAWK systems set the industry standard for clean air, safety, and reliability.

PROTECTING ONTARIO'S FIRST RESPONDERS

In Ontario, firefighters and fire investigators face a higher risk of developing certain cancers due to occupational exposures. To address this, the province has enacted presumptive legislation under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), which presumes that specific cancers diagnosed in these professionals are work-related, facilitating access to compensation and benefits.

Recognizing the importance of mitigating these risks, Windfields Mechanical Group Inc. provides advanced fire station exhaust removal systems that capture and remove harmful diesel exhaust directly from emergency vehicles, keeping station air clean and protecting firefighters’ health.

Whether your station features single back-in bays or stacked vehicle bays, our experts design and install systems that collect toxic vehicle exhaust from tailpipes or overhead stacks and safely remove it from the building.

These exhaust systems are engineered specifically for emergency response vehicles. Tailpipes are adapted for simple universal connections, and the system automatically activates when the vehicle starts eliminating exhaust exposure without impacting emergency response times.

Our product line meets the unique needs of fire departments, EMS responders, and fleet maintenance services, helping stations comply with regulations, improve air quality, and protect personnel.

Source Capture Systems

Straight Suction Rail (SSR)

Automatic Disconnection for Safety

The MagneGrip Straight Suction Rail (SSR) is built for tight firehouse layouts, supporting tandem parking for up to four vehicles in back-in or drive-through bays. Using minimal hose, it delivers full exhaust removal. A lightweight overhead rail doubles as ductwork, guiding a trolley that moves with the vehicle. When the engine starts, an auto-start sensor activates the fan to capture exhaust. As the vehicle exits, the trolley follows along the rail and the nozzle automatically disconnects at the door.

Simple, Fully Automatic Operation

  • 90° lifting elbow prevents hose pinch, twist, or drag.

  • Internal support cable prevents stretching and ensures smooth nozzle release.

  • Lower 2 ft. of hose is rated to 1,000°F and includes an optional easy-grip handle.

  • Available with Magnetic or Pneumatic Nozzles.

Sliding Balancer Track (SBT)

Overhead Tracks for Safer Operation

The MagneGrip Sliding Balancer Track (SBT) System fits single or tandem bays and works with both emergency and non-emergency vehicles. A constant-tension balancer holds the hose in place while a dual-glide trolley travels inside the overhead track. When the vehicle rolls out on a call, the trolley moves to the end-stop and the nozzle automatically disconnects at the door.

Easy to Use and Fully Automatic

  • Internal support cable prevents stretching and ensures smooth nozzle release.

  • Lower 2 ft. of hose is 1,000°F-rated with an optional easy-grip handle.

  • Compatible with Magnetic or Pneumatic Nozzles.

Sliding Flexhose Track (SFT)

Perfect for Low Ceilings and Tight Bays

The MagneGrip Sliding Flexhose Track (SFT) is the most compact source-capture system, ideal for back-in bays with low ceilings or narrow aisles as small as 19–24 inches. With no hanging hose loops, it keeps doors and walkways clear. The sealed Flexhose extends and retracts along the track as the vehicle moves. When the engine starts, the fan activates automatically, and as the vehicle exits, the Flexhose reaches the end-stop and the nozzle disconnects. When returning, the nozzle reconnects and the fan restarts for safe exhaust capture.

Simple Hose Drop System

Removes the Heaviest Exhaust at Start-Up

The Simple Hose Drop System uses the same components as the Sliding Balancer Track but without the track. When the vehicle pulls out, the nozzle stays connected until the hose fully extends, then automatically releases. By capturing exhaust from engine start-up to disconnect, it removes the highest concentration of harmful gases. It’s a cost-effective choice for stations with tight budgets or vehicles that start daily but rarely run emergency calls. A track can be added later if full door-to-door coverage is needed.

Maximum Airflow

MagneGrip delivers the highest airflow of any fully sealed system for fast, complete exhaust removal.

Vertical Stack Rail (VSR)

Hands-Free Operation for Vertical Stack Exhausts

Designed for vehicles with vertical stacks, this system requires no manual connection. As the apparatus enters, the stack catcher aligns automatically with the suction rail. MagneGrip’s wide nine-inch rail delivers maximum airflow. When the ignition starts—or when the vehicle returns—the exhaust fan activates automatically, pulling all emissions through the rail and safely venting them outside.

Diverter Valve for Mixed Fleets

If your station has both vertical stack and tailpipe-style vehicles, a diverter valve adds flexibility. Mounted on the stack vehicle, it redirects exhaust to a side tailpipe when needed, allowing the apparatus to connect to a hose system and park in any bay.

Air Purification

AirHAWK Air Purification Systems

MagneGrip’s AirHAWK units are ceiling-mounted air cleaners designed to remove exhaust fumes, gases, and airborne contaminants in fire stations, maintenance shops, factories, and similar facilities. Portable and ducted versions are also available for offices, clinics, bus terminals, and individual rooms, and can be paired with any MagneGrip exhaust system.

Clean Air for a Healthier Workplace

The AirHAWK 3000 XL uses a four-stage filtration system with UV lamps to remove particulates, toxic gases, and pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and mold. Purified air is then circulated evenly throughout the space. AirHAWK 2000 and 2000H units offer additional size and power options.

Simple, Safe Installation

Mounted to the ceiling, AirHAWK units require no hoses, vehicle connections, or building alterations. They operate automatically with no user involvement.
