Karishma Karim is a dynamic leader and business executive with over 20 years of experience in higher education, immigration services, and industrial operations. She began her career at Lakehead University before spending 14 years at York University supporting academic operations and student success initiatives, later contributing to Ontario Tech University in program development and institutional support.
She also played a key role at Queen’s University in helping establish the Queen’s–Lakeridge Health MD Family Medicine Program, a landmark initiative advancing community-based medical education and healthcare training in the Durham Region.
In addition to her academic leadership, Karishma brings over a decade of experience in immigration and visa services, specializing in Quebec investor immigration programs. In this role, she successfully guided clients through complex regulatory pathways, combining deep technical knowledge with a client-focused, solutions-driven approach built on trust, precision, and integrity.
Coming from this people-centered background, Karishma has always been driven by a commitment to improving outcomes for individuals and communities. When she transitioned into the industrial ventilation and mechanical industry as CEO and Co-founding Partner of Windfields Mechanical Group Inc., she carried that same philosophy forward. However, working directly with fire stations, manufacturing facilities, and industrial environments exposed a critical and often overlooked reality.
She observed how routinely workers were exposed to welding fumes, diesel exhaust, and other airborne contaminants—frequently without full awareness of the long-term health risks. In fire stations, for example, diesel exhaust inside apparatus bays is often normalized as part of daily operations, despite growing evidence linking repeated exposure to respiratory illness and occupational cancers. This experience became a defining turning point in her leadership journey.
It reinforced a fundamental belief: access to clean air is not a luxury or optional upgrade—it is a basic health and safety necessity.
As CEO and Co-founding Partner of Windfields Mechanical Group Inc., Karishma now leads with a mission to bridge the gap between awareness and action. She provides strategic direction and operational leadership, overseeing the delivery of high-performance industrial and commercial ventilation solutions, including vehicle exhaust extraction, welding fume control, and industrial ductwork systems. Her focus is on combining education with engineering innovation to create safer workplaces and healthier communities.
Under her guidance, Windfields Mechanical Group Inc. is committed to protecting workers and communities through advanced clean air solutions. The company delivers integrated systems for industrial ductwork, vehicle exhaust extraction, and welding fume control, supported by strategic partnerships with global leaders such as Kemper North America, MagneGrip, and US Duct. These collaborations strengthen its ability to deliver innovative, safety-driven ventilation solutions across Canada.
Karishma’s career reflects a consistent commitment to leadership rooted in purpose—combining strategy, operational excellence, and a deep responsibility to protect health, improve safety, and create lasting impact in every community she serves.
